Mebex Consultants was established in 1979 by. Dr. Joseph. Abbosh in the U.K. as a Healthcare Planning, Architectural and Engineering Services Consultancy then relocated to regional offices founded in the Middle East, taking Lebanon as a headquarter in 1995 with offices in Iraq in 2000, and Saudi Arabia in 2008, to support the increased potential of healthcare expansion in the Middle East. The scope of services offered, include, Feasibility Studies, Hospital Management and Maintenance Studies, Hospital Information and Integrated Management Systems, Planning of Healthcare Institutions, Pharmaceutical, Diagnostic Imaging and Clinical Laboratories Facilities. The consultancy is involved in the architectural and engineering design services of major healthcare projects in the Middle East, with full Electro-Mechanical / Structural Engineering Design Support, Supervision, and Project Management, of the intended projects.
Mebex Consultants has acted as the lead Architecture Medical Planner, Medical Equipment and Furniture specialist for all the hospitals that it is involved with. In some of the hospitals Mebex Consultants has acted as the lead Architect or Engineering Services Designers.
Mebex Consultants was involved in major projects in Lebanon that were funded by The World Bank, The Saudi Fund, The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, The Islamic Development Bank and The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development Bank

Mebex Consultants Acting as Owner Representative for Hospital Project Development and International Funding.
2008
Mebex Consultants & Khatib&Alami of Lebanon have been appointed by the Municipality of Baghdad to do the Master Plan for the City of Baghdad (vision 2030) the project is funded by the World Bank
Experts, with over 30 years experience as a Hotel expert and senior consultant for kitchen and laundry planning founded a Joint Venture with Mebex. Experts are leading in designing detailed layouts of kitchen, restaurant and laundry projects with tender documentation, specifications and bill of quantities.
2007
Mebex and Joharji International Development Company (JIDCO) founded a Joint Venture in Saudi Arabia and the gulf known as JOMEX. The joint venture is established for the development, design and management of private and public hospitals
2005
Mebex Consultants & Khatib&Alami have been appointed by the ministry of municipalities and public works for the Husseiniya water project
2003
Mebex – Iraq diversified into a multidisciplinary consultancy office, Mebex – Iraq was the first Iraqi consultancy that was retained by the World Bank to undertake needs assessment studies in the housing and urban management sectors
2000
Mebex opened an office in Iraq to service its increasing Iraqi clients
1995
Mebex moved offices from the UK to open a regional Headquarter in Beirut - Lebanon
