To determine the number of existing hospitals in the area their size and specialties, number of beds, medical services provided and potential future expansion of healthcare facilities and new hospital in the region.

To determine the number of people living in the immediate and adjacent area for the proposed hospital, their age groups, and anticipated population growth.

Following the conducted surveys, the actual needs in the area for health specialties are identified. A medical program is agreed with the client, to establish the medical services needed, the number of beds, and the diagnostic and procedure rooms required.

Following the conducted surveys and requirements needed, a financial model is prepared to determine the anticipated capital costs of the hospital which will cover the construction, the equipment and furniture, as well as the operational and management expenses. The financial return on the investment is identified which will act as a measurement for the viability of the project.

Defines the total square meter areas needed for each room, for each department and for the hospital as a whole.

The architect prepares for the client various sketches, for each department, from which an agreed concept is chosen which illustrates the shape, height and external elevations and facades of the building / s. Usually the concept is a 3dimentional computer model which helps the client to visualize the proposed project.

Following agreement of the concept with the client, layout floor plans are prepared on Auto - CAD, showing different zones of the hospital, different floors and departments, circulation aspects, sections and elevations.

Following approval of the primary design, the floor plans layout are developed further showing more details in the design.

The floor plans are further detailed with actual wall thickness, door and window dimensions, stair and lifts dimensions, room measurements construction details for contractors, choice of building material and finishes.

Bidding documents are prepared containing all architecture and engineering services drawing specifications, bill of quantities, cost estimates, soft and hard copies of documents, tender conditions, and conditions of contract.

Standards and codes chosen, which will be applied to the project design.

Proposed design concept in agreed with the architect and client, taking into consideration the local site requirements and available services in the area. Riser diagram are presented showing distribution of services.

Following approval of the concept, a single line Auto - CAD layout plans are prepared for the project.

The primary design is further developed into two Auto - CAD lines drawing, with detailing and dimensions of piling / cabling / conduiting / ducting, and equipment layout.

Determines standards and codes used, seismic information, column distribution and coordination with architecture plans.

Design development and detailed design is prepared, with dimensions and notations of all columns, beams and slabs, with section construction details for the infrastructure and superstructure of the project.

Mechanical and electrical calculations are prepared, based on the output of the equipments and environmental requirements of the building to determine the full loads needed for the electro - mechanical generating and operational equipment, as well as the structure loads needed for the building.

The biomedical engineers will assist the hospital planner and the architect in determining the actual space areas needed for the medical equipments and furniture installations.

A list of room schedules is prepared for each department, each floor, each hospital building.

A schedules document is prepared indentifying the location of all the equipments and furniture in all rooms. The identification is done on 1/100 architecture floor plans, as well as 1/20 or 1/50 typical and atypical room plans with room data sheet documents preparation, to assist all the engineering services, client, contractors and suppliers.

Documents are prepared for the medical equipment and furniture specifications and bill of quantities.

The medical equipment and furniture tender documents are prepared containing all the specifications, bill of quantities, 1/100or 1/50 layout drawings for the installed equipments, as well as room data sheet documents, with tender conditions and conditions of contract and bidding documents.

The design consultants will arrange with the client on holding periodic meeting, to update the client on the design issues that require further clarifications and client approval prior to proceeding further with the design.

Mebex can act as client representative , acting as an interface between the client, his design consultants, the appointed contractor and subcontractors. resolving design issues between the different design disciplines. Coordinating between various governmental or institutional authorities and design consultants or clients.

The consultant, or the design consultant can act as supervision consultant on the project, on behalf of the client. The consultant may be retained by the client to supervise projects designed by others

As client representative the consultant will monitor the activities of all concerned parties dealing with the project, monitors the works in the design office, and the contractors site engineers.

The consultant will prepare a work schedules for the project on site, monitors the different trades performance, time keeping schedule of the contract execution, cost analysis and measurements of materials supplied.

Advising with clients on potential viable projects in the targeted area, based on informed data and surveys.

Identifying with the client investors that may be interested in participating in the projects, as equity partners, investors or financial promotion and guarantors.

Advising and assisting client with coordination between the various consultants that are involved in the project such as design engineering consultants, legal consultants, real estate developers, financial institution, and project developers.

started in 2014, the preparation of the new project is composed of Seven Hospitals, Five Towers of 25 levels each, and a Medical School on a 110,000sq.mt plot. The Project is a mixed Private / Public participation, with International Contractors and Strategic Multinational Medical Equipment Manufacturer, and a well known Hospital Operator. Project currently Under Construction.

started in 2016, the studies for a Larger Scale Multi Use mixed development. The plot of land is 2,250,000sq.mt. The Financial Feasibility Studies are being undertaken by a Leading Expert in International project development financing in cooperation with Mebex Consultants.
